How difficult is it to find vacancies in private lodging in October

Hello, my friend and I are making our pilgramige in October and unfortunately I am a very light sleeper and am nervous about staying in lodging with many people. My husband and I hiked across the pyrennes several years ago amd stayed in refuges where the snoring just about did me in . So we are thinking about staying in hotels for at least half the time. We were hoping to be able to call to get a room the day before ( we speak Spanish), but wondered what the likelihood would be of being able to find a room, especially when we get near saria onward. Your feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hi Macc60,
Having done that twice o9, 12 we had no problems even from Sarria not in October but in April June.
I know the numbers keep increasing on the Frances but the Accommodation seems to keep pace.
Buen Camino

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Thank you both for your information. I appreciate it so much!

I had no problem finding private lodgings in October, 2013.

Yikes, I'm walking CF in October too! We'll put the notion of the camino providing to a true test, I guess

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
I haven't been there at that time (I'd love to, though!), but I suggest asking the hospitaleros/proprietors each day about possibilities for the next day. They know what's ahead and often know and can recommend certain places. Most of the time they are more than happy to assist. Buen camino!

I will also be on the Camino.in October/November and was wondering the same thing. My *Hiking The Camino De Santiago " book say that aftet Logrono that there are albergues open year round or through at least December so I'm hoping that it is correct.

Although many places both private and municipal start to close mid October generally there are some accommodations open. However nights can be chilly to cold and heating throughout the night is not always available. Be prepared!

I use Booking.com when booking non-albergue accommodation on the Camino and I find it excellent.
