How much pavement walking on the Coastal route

Hello. My partner and I are currently walking between Lisbon and Porto. We also plan to walk the Coastal route from Porto. It has been a great eight days so far. The only negative is the amount of road/pavement walking. What is it like after Porto for road walking on the Coastal route? How about the Senda Litoral? We have not made definite plans on which of these routes we will take. Any advice would be appreciated.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

€83,-
Hola - I sympathise! After Oporto going by the coast have the choice of either the traditional coastal route or, as you say, the seaside route. The Coastal route isn't always on the coast and there is asphalt and cobblestone walking. Less so on the Seaside route although the wooden boardwalks are still hard surfaces. The Joy of the Seaside Route is some glorious, boots off, beach walking in places. However the boardwalks and promenades of the seaside route are not contiguous. The CSJ has the only guide to both with clear walking directions. Available on Kindle - since you are on the move. If you have any questions just email me.

Buen Camino

Hi Rhonda, we walked the Senda Litoral last year and it is almost all concrete, asphalt or cobblestone until you get to Spain. Then it's a bit less, but still a lot of hard surface walking.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
We are setting out to do the Camino Portugues in April from Porto to Vigo
The coastal route ,is there any profile maps of this route

The Senda Litoral (by the sea) is basically flat, with a few "bumps" of less than 100m at the most.

The Caminho da Costa (slightly inland) goes through the hills, and John Brierley's latest (2018) guidebook has profile maps.
