How will I cope walking from Vezelay?

Hello from Ed . . . I've walked the Camino for the past 3years, twice from Le Puy so I suppose I'm an old hand now. On reaching Santiago I generally say enough is enough and resolve that it will be my last, but during the winter months I look over the photo's and rekindle the memories and I am lost.
I'm considering walking from Veselay but my perception is that the route will be deserted/waymarking patchy/and accommodation might be a problem with some long distances involved. I'm a bit apprehensive.
I only have enough French for pleasantries and shopping at the boulangerie which wasnt a big problem on the GR65.
I usually leave in April when the gite's are quiet and its not too hot and I walk alone.
Can anyone who has walked the Vezelay route give me some impession of what to expect, it may be enough to tip me in one direction.
Thanks in advance
