I have just returned from about 3 months in Spain and have the SIM I used while there. It still has about 12 euro credit on it. It is the micro SIM that fits the iPhone5. You simply put it in the phone.
You do need to have an unlocked phone.

This would be for someone leaving for Spain in the next couple of months as they have an inactivity expiration built in.
I can give simple instructions.
Also, it would be easier for me if it were in the U.S.
