Wednesday was ourmost difficult day yet. What should havebeen asimple25. 5 k (16mile) stroll turned into an all day wanderin thewoods. We got so lost it was comical noticing how ourminds can project yellow arrows where noneexist.
For the sake of those following us: when youget to the second patch of woods on theMealhada to Aguedasection you will see aarrow pointing for youto take aquick left then right off the paved road. All I can adviseis stayon the paved road right down to the rotary just south of Anadia.
As if to demonstrate just how difficult keeping up waymarking can be, the walk into Anadia up to the gas station was comical. The street had been lined with new lamp posts when the blazes were painted on them.Thetown then built a median strip, uprooted the lamp posts and replanted and rotated them so theyellow arrows point off all overtheplace.Actually this is not a problemfor navigation as youjust go up the street.
Unfortunately thedaywas not done for us.Once again we ran out of waymarks where N1, IC2 and at least one othermajorroadway come together in a mash of turnoffs and overpasses. Wehad to go by the street signs that had been laid out for cars to go to Agueda and ended up going off camino thelast 7k on N1, a major road.
