Al the optimist

Met a young friend in the pub last night. She had just cycled on this trail. She was saying how hard it was to be back, that it had changed her somehow (but she wasn't sure how). She had started by saying no one she spoke to could understand how she felt. A lengthy discussion followed where we realised the similarities of the challenge to that of the Camino. We were completely on the same wavelength. And both very happy with what the experiences had brought into our lives. Also both unhappy that all those pounds we had lost were reappearing on the scales! :(

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Hey Al.....consider your meeting place with the young lady....maybe if you met her out on a trail somewhere there would be no need for commiserations;-)

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
You are right about the next Camino and pounds. It has become my annual mechanism for avoiding putting on more weight! Though at times it seems like a hard alternative to dieting! :)

I can second that. In July, I walked the Salkantay trek route to Machu Picchu and followed by hiking through Ausangate. At around 100 total miles, a very different experience when compared to the Camino...but similarly a life changing one.
