Time of past OR future Camino

I am arriving in Madrid and plan to catch the bus to Leon to start my Camino. Can I buy my bus ticket on the day or should I pre book, if so how? Thanks

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

€83,-
I arrived from Madrid on Alsa last night. There were very few empty seats
I did prebook about 4 days ahead and even at that point the seats were surprisingly full.

Alsa has an app you can purchase tickets with.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
Date and time really help when trying to answer these questions. Otherwise the only answer is maybe.

Spanish holiday weekends, University semesters, local festivos can all have significant impact on seat availability.

The ALSA website www.alsa.es will provide you with timetabling information for your intended date of travel. There is a page in English. Just hover over the languages list at the top of the page. There are about 10 weekday buses per day from Barajas T4, weekends vary. I have never pre-booked an ALSA ticket, never felt the need, never missed a bus. Their website is notoriously difficult to use using 'foreign' credit cards though some have reported success using Paypal.

The train www.RENFE.com gets there in half the time at twice the price. (oh, and their ticket purchasing website is pretty $%&* too )
