Hey Everybody!!!!
My name is Maggie and I'm planning on doing the Camino Ignaciano. Is anyone else planning on going?
Hello Maggie and welcome to the Forum. Before heading off on the Ignaciano/Loyola route, be sure to do some careful planning to ensure that there will be places open for you to stay along the way. It is quite a remote route at times. I have already given up the idea of re-walking parts of this route later this year due to concerns about not being able to find accommodations for long stretches. Best wishes to you!

I walked the Camino Catalan last autumn. The two caminos coincide for a few days but you walk in different directions.

I suggest a spring camino. The fields and fruit trees have to be better looking then.

The Camino Catalan sub-forum may be worth looking at for some Ignacio information.

Maggie, I was planning to walk the Camino Ignaciano in the Sept/Oct timeframe but CV-19 has pushed it back into 2021. I have 4 previous Caminos in my recent past: Norte in 2016, Portuguese 2018, Salvador and Primitivo in 2019. And you? Tim

Hi Maggie- we now have no time frame to walk as we cannot yet enter Spain, but I have been using Jose Luis Iriberri and Chris Lowney's book Guide to the Camino Ignaciano (2nd edition) to plan our Camino. The book was written by a Jesuit who has been given the assignment to promote the Camino Ignaciano by the Society of Jesus. It has three sections: Part 1 is Preparation and History, Part 2 is a Practical Guide with great detail, and Part 3 is a Spiritual Guide to be used with Part 2. For some of the very long stages it appears that in those areas you can bus back and forth if it is difficult to find accommodations. On some stages I have looked into walking early and taking a train back to the beginning of the stage and then the train again in the morning to start walking to the end of the stage. I would check bus and train schedules as I was looking into this before any restrictions. Ultreia! 🥾
