Mark, 50, Scotland, Camino Frances in March, April, May

Two nights ago, my random web surfing brought up the Camino. I did a little research and it appealed to me, a chance to get back to some long walks of younger years.

And then I did that thing... out with my walking club today I mentioned my nascent plan to several friends, so that's it, now I have to do the thing!

Springtime start, probably to coordinate with some other travel plans.

What a great resource here, I'm enjoying the informative posts!

Hi, Mark,

50 is a great age to start walking the camino. I walked my first Camino Frances in 2000 as a way to do something special when I turned 50, and it has become my favorite extracurricular activity. I've walked every summer since, except one, and hope to be doing it for another 15 years or so.

Hi Mark.
There is something about our 50th year! I'm "beginning" my trek on my final day of being 50; thereby, still fulfilling a "bucket list" item of doing something like The Camino at age 50.
I fly out of Texas on March 27th and plan on walking until first week of May so I'm sure we'll meet up along the way.
