Montana Mountain hikers hit the trail.. but where???

Hello! My name is Bella and I am from Montana in the United States. I am a young student travelling with my best friend and cousin Ali. It has been a long time dream of my mother's to hike El Camino de Santiago, but do to obstacles she has never been able to go until now! She is meeting Ali and I in Madrid in three days (April 22) and we have until the end of April to do part of the trail. We hardly have any plans unfortunately, and we would love advice! We only have four-6 days to hike, but we don't know what would be the best route! Sending good vibes to all of the pilgrims out there, thanks!

I suggest that you start in Sarria. You can get there from Madrid by taking the train or a bus connecting through Lugo.

Hello fellow Montanian, A question or two; how important is it for you to reach Santiago, do you just want a taste of what the camino is like, what level of conditioning is everyone in, like mountains or would rather stick to the flats.
