Need first aid or help on the Meseta?

David

Veteran Member
Time of past OR future Camino
First one in 2005 from Moissac, France.
Hola pilgrims - I will be on the Meseta, mainly based at Castrojeriz (in the campsite behind the first refugio) and doing first aid in various refugios in either direction from the 14th of this month for about a month or so as well as popping up on odd sections of the Camino during the day.

If you see me please do come and say hello! (photo below - I'm the one without the flouresecent vest)

I will have a car parked at the campsite so if any of you get into trouble or need help in any way that I and a car can help with please find an internet booth and pm me, leaving a phone number if possible.
I will check my messages every morning and evening.

If you need help, or you know of someone who needs help, if I can, I will come.

Buen Camino

David...that's so great!! We leave for Spain in a few hours and will be starting our Camino in a couple of days! How wonderful to know you will be out there with support and assistance!! I hope we will have a chance to meet you...hopefully just to give you greetings vs. needing help!! It brings a peace knowing a loving soul like you is out there!! What a blessing you are to others!!

Buen Camino!

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
I wish that you'll be out of work most of the time, good to know you are there for every one.

It is a response to the specific command at Luke 10:37 - " then go ye, and do likewise"

This is the first time I have based myself on the Meseta (I love the Meseta!) so I don't know how much I will be needed. If need is low then I shall move east to between Logrono and Roncesvalles, where I have set up first aid posts in the past - mainly because folk start to fall to pieces (if they are going to) as they approach Logrono, then recover after Logrono as their bodies become more resilient.

Time will tell

All will be well

Buen Camino Peregrinos!

I would love to Rebekah - to put a human face to the writings would be a delight, thank you. Is there anything you would like as a treat from England? Marmite? Marmalade? Etc .........

I sure hope I won't be needing you, but thank you so much for doing this. I will be looking out for you.

I don't know you, but this is a truly generous offer that I find very reassuring since when I do finally make my Camino I will be walking alone and am disabled.Knowing there are people willing to help helps with my fears and concerns -like,what if I have a flare-up or suddenly collapse?Thank you for blessing us pilgrims with your kind and loving heart!

Hi to all the Pilgrims on the Camino now and for the next month or so -
Please keep a look out for David around Castrojeriz ... David has first-aid training and will be able to help. If you have the 'Meseta Blues', talk to David and he'll turn your blue day into the sunniest one imaginable!
Buen Camino from Australia!

Hi David,
Greetings from Sydney. We were discussing your generous offer at our pilgrim meeting last Saturday. Your being on the Camino will be an encouragement and an inspiration to many. On behalf of Sandra and the rest of our group, I wish you well though I also hope that your fellow pilgrims stop for a chat rather than being in need of your first aid skills.

For the kind responses, many thanks.

Pilgrims, I have now moved upstream from Castrojeriz to Los Arcos, which is the end of Day 6 on the Brierley and the Michelin.
The Mass is at 7.30, doors open at 7. (12.30 on Sundays and holidays) - a really pleasant and friendly priest who calls up and talks to pilgrims after Mass.

Buen Camino!
