Need info about Castro Santa Trega

Time of past OR future Camino
CF: Leon-SdC 2016
CF: SJPD-Leon & CP 2023
My husband and I plan to explore Castro Santa Trega while walking the Portuguese Camino. I’m seeing quite a few places on top of the hill/mountain. If you have visited this, please tell me what all there is to do and how much time to allow on top. I know there is an archaeological ruin there-is there a church there that is open?
Thanks for any information you can provide. I have done some research and read a bit about this, but I’m looking for people who have actually visited to help me determine how much time to allow.
Thanks!

This site is definitely worth visiting if you're interested in Celtic history. It's a very attractive site on the mountain with some restored huts, definitely worth a hour's walking around. Here's a blog post where we mention it: https://twoclinestraveling.wordpress.com/2019/07/23/historical-excursions/
Only caveat is you'll need a vehicle to get up there; I'm not aware of any buses. So, taxi or Uber.

I agree completely - it's a fascinating place. There are also wonderful views to Portugal (across the river), a cafe, and a small museum on top. You can also walk up - there's a path that starts in town.

New Original Camino Gear Designed Especially with The Modern Peregrino In Mind!
I haven’t walked there, but did come upon it, by accident actually, on a driving trip up in Galicia years ago. It is impressive and has gorgeous views, as others have said. And let me second @LynnT ’s recommendation of the museum. I thought it was very informative and nicely done, particularly for someone like me who stumbled onto it without knowing what it was!

Lonely Planet sums up the site well in a short paragraph.
