Great video. Well done/thank you so much for sharing! Congrats and Buen Camino!Premieres this evening at 6:30 pm central (US).
The maker, a "Triple Crowner," walked Camino last fall with her sister.
Camino de Santiago Documentary: DOS CHICAS
A person who has hiked the three major long-distance trails in the U.S. (the Appalachian Trail, the Pacific Crest Trail, and the Continental Divide Trail). Current estimates show that only 600 people in the world have completed the Triple Crown. One thing I appreciated about the documentary was her attitude. Having achieved such an accomplishment, she could have acted like the Camino was a piece of cake. Rather, she took the Camino for what it is (a very long walk for most people) and enjoyed the journey.Excuse my ignorance, but what is a triple crowner ?
One who has hiked the 3 north/south long distance trails along the major US mountain ranges. They are the Appalachian Trail (AT), Continental Divide Trail (CDT, the Rocky Mountains) and the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT, Sierra Nevada and Cascades).Excuse my ignorance, but what is a triple crowner ?
Hope its not a srupid question, but what is a triple crownerPremieres this evening at 6:30 pm central (US).

Not at all. See posts #7 & #8 in this thread.Hope its not a srupid question, but what is a triple crowner
Thank you. From what little I have seen so far, she does not seem like other PCT etc hikers I have met. No rubbing it in that they find the camino an insignificant little walk that they are only doing to add to their collection. What amazed me in the past that they tell me how easy it is when they are young people talking to a 70 year old, never considering the age difference. So far, I am enjoying her story. There have been three youtube storys I have watched recently that were thoroughly enjoyable and all by girls. Lyndsey Hikes and Illgetthere are the other twoNot at all. Thanks...I will be checking out the other two you have listed. It's good to have some recommendations and positive reviews from forum members as there are so many Camino related videos popping up all the time. There have been three youtube storys I have watched recently that were thoroughly enjoyable and all by girls. I have watched her earlier short YouTube videos on the Camino, and now Dos Chicas. This was one of the things that stood out for me - she respected the Camino.Thank you. The transformation I referred to was that of the younger sister. At 19 yrs-old, it seemed like she was walking Camino to please her sister, but by the end, she was enjoying the journey and didn't want it to end.Ah ok...thanks for the explanation. I suppose many countries have their hiking lingo, most of which won't relate to concepts of pilgrimage. I've now watched the first few sections (to Zubiri - lots of memory jogging scenery). I look forward to what one poster described as 'transformation'.
Buen camino.
I noticed that. She seemed a bit annoyed to be walking the Camino. The transformation I referred to was that of the younger sister. At 19 yrs-old, it seemed like she was walking Camino to please her sister, but by the end, she was enjoying the journey and didn't want it to end.
Yeah, there's no "Camino Magic", "the Camino provides", etc.I hope the Camino remains slang free and doesn't mimic the AT with terms like trail magic or the use of trail names...ugh.
Nor forum names that say something about us, but not who we are!! Sorry @RJM but I thought it rather ironic that someone with a forum 'moniker' would complain about trail names.Yeah, there's no "Camino Magic", "the Camino provides", etc.
Moniker? Those are my actual initials, lol. I don't have a nickname.Nor forum names that say something about us, but not who we are!! Sorry @RJM but I thought it rather ironic that someone with a forum 'moniker' would complain about trail names.
Thanks for the recommendation of Illgetthere. I’ve spent a few hours today watching some of Rachelle’s videos. Really good content.Thank you. I think this is a different video than the one you saw a few weeks ago. Dixie has three main Camino video offerings:I happened to see this video a couple of weeks ago and thought it very well done. I can recommend it, as well.
I've enjoyed those. You may also enjoy watching the youtube stories by Sara Dhooma. Like Dixie, she has also done a lot of through hiking and other hikes around the world, but she definitely has a soft spot for the Camino and has done (and documented) a number of different Caminos. She was a keynote speaker at the Spring meeting of our local Camino community which we managed to get in before the world turned upside down.Thank you. We have our own slang and sayings. "Camino angels" isn't that different from "trail magic". We don't give people trail names, just label them by where they are from.Pretty good video.

Yes, I realized later I saw the blog youtube series. I would like to see the movie, too.I think this is a different video than the one you saw a few weeks ago. Dixie has three main Camino video offerings:
- A series of vlogs she did when she was walking the Camino
- A video comparing her experience on the Camino with her experience on through hikes (this might be the one you saw a few weeks ago)
- A "feature lenth" (hour and a half) movie that she just premiered edited from the vlogs she made while walking.
Honestly, I don't use any of those expressions on the Camino. Just refer to people by their names and such.We have our own slang and sayings. "Camino angels" isn't that different from "trail magic". We don't give people trail names, just label them by where they are from.
The only one walking in tweed I suppose. He is more an introvert and was given the trail name "Quiet Man" on his first day.
