hi guys

i hope you are all well and safe in these strange times.

i am chasing some information please. i believe the Norte has a more direct route now that comes into the French way at Lavacolla. i believe the split occurs about 5km out from Baarmonde. is this correct, do you have any details about this route and if there are any services on that way.
i understand things now may be just reopening but was there anything available prior to the covid19 lockdowns
thank you stay well and good luck with Camino reopening.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
I walked the CN in July and, as I was afraid of joining the CF, I took a detour just after Boimorto. That led me directly to Lavacolla. The entire camino was perfectly marked.

On this map of the Dutch Confraternity you can see this whole new route. You can zoom in and move that map.
On this download page (translate button on top) you can download this route (together with all other Spanish routes.

I partially took the new route last year but cut down to the Francés after I spent the night at the Twin Pines B & B - a place that I highly recommend. I connected to the Camino Francés just before La Brea.

I was planning to do the second half of the Norte (I already did the first half but got infected blisters and had to go down to the Frances), and then do the Ruta do Mar to Ferrol and go down the Ingles to Santiago. That is another alternative. Unfortunately, it will now have to wait until 2021.

Elevation map shows this is really steep! What’s the best way from downtown Hondarribia up there? Then wish me luck on the Purgatorio—I am a nervous wreck.
My group of six arrives in Irun on May 20 and we're starting our Camino on May 21. Since it's the beginning of the busy season, I'm wondering if we should order trekking poles from Amazon Espana...
