My name is Danette and I'm walking my first Camino! I leave in 20 days for SJPDP and couldn't be more excited! It's finally almost here! I read this forum almost every day and I want to thank you all for posting questions, answers, and tips we can all learn from. I feel like I'm going in to this very prepared, thanks to this site! Well, as much as I want to be. I'm trying to keep an open mind and take things as they come. I'm looking forward to the adventure! I haven't had 34 days of work since I was 18 years old! I'll have a bright blue Deuter pack, in case anybody is walking around the same time! Thank you again!

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Hi Danette,
Have a great Camino. It is the most wonderful thing, seeing SJPP disapearing as you set off on the first day of your first camino. Not that SJPP isn't a very beautiful place, it is, but seeing it shrink into the haze as you climb is wonderful. But I found that nothing can fully prepare you for the marvelous and unknown journey that is still ahead.
May your walk be dotted with surprising & wonderful encounters.
Buen Camino

Hi Danette,
I know the feeling of excitement, and also trepidation and aprehension, as I will be starting from St Jean on September 9. I doubt whether I will catch up with you as you have a week's start on me, but I will look out for a California girl with a blue backpack. I have a red backpack, and will likely be the oldest perigrino you will see. Good luck and buen camino. David from Sydney

Hi Danette,

Greetings from the Philippines. I did the Camino last year, starting from St. Jean-Pied-de-Port. This forum has also helped me a lot and strengthened my resolve to go for it. I prepared as well as I could for my Camino but the best preparation that I found out is what you have expressed so beautifully "to keep an open mind and take things as they come." Let the Camino lead and guide you! May many blessings come your Way!

Buen Camino,
Manny D.
