Hi everyone!

Mi girlfriend and I are travelling from Bulgaria. Our plane lands in Paris and we are considering getting a rent-a-car from Paris to Bayonne (80 euros + fuel) where we can get the train to St Jean Pied de Port (10 euros). So if some other couple or two people :) want to share the car with us it would be great, coz this money are a little high for us.

Or if someone knows a cheaper way to go from Paris to SJPD, let us know :) I think the trainS Paris-SJPD was 100 euros. Correct me if Im wrong!

Borkodp:

I just checked the train schedules from Paris Montparnesse to Bayonne TGV non stop. The fare was as low as $32. dollars per person in 2nd class for the 5:29pm train arriving Bayonne 10:40pm. This could cause a problem connecting to SJPdP. The 2:29pm train was $50. per person arriving Bayonne 7:29pm.
There is also an overnight train from Paris Austerlitz at 10:12pm arriving Bayonne 8:41am.

I used March 5th (Monday) as the date and fares are in U.S. dollars. These seem like reasonable options to driving and less stressful. Good luck.

Thank you very much!
But can you give me a link where you saw this, because i've seen all the websites for the trains in france but i really can't find this overnight trains.

Bobby

PS I just found it. :) The whole journey from Paris to SJPD is 60 dollars per person! That's a loooot better than 100 euros! Thank you once again.

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

Trains are the way to go. I think you were neglecting to factor in the price of fuel (something like 1.50 euros per liter) and rental car insurance - and it's a very long drive.

Besides, on the train you will meet other walkers!
