Planning the Camino

hello all
I am new to this forum and plan to walk the last 100k from Sarria to Santiago compostella, 5th April to 15th April 2017. We are flying into Santiago compostella and need advice on the best way to get to Sarria.
Starting from Sarria what would be the best places to stop Hostels etc. We are aiming to get into Santiago on the 13th as we have accommodation booked there from 13th. Also is it best to book hostels before we leave the U.K.? I would be very grateful for any information this being my first visit to the Camino

Hi and welcome to the forum @Jmac29 Pretty much all the question you have asked have been answered before. If you use the search function here you will find plenty of threads like "travel to Sarria" or "reservation of albergue" or similar. After a bit of reading you will have a better idea what to expect and we will be happy to answer any remaining, specific questions. Or at least give you our opinions ;-)

Since part of your walk is during Semana Santa, you may want to book ahead those nights.

Bus to lugo then from there to sarria - or an expensive taxi. Depending on your budget, there are several options in sarria and then every 4-6 kms all the way to SdC. At easter you are probably best booking ahead, lots of spaniards doing that section then. You cannot book municipal albergues, but there are dozens of private ones, just as cheap.

Empresa Freire provides bus service from Santiago Labacolla Airport to Lugo.

Empresa Monforte (Monbus) provides bus service from Lugo to Sarria.
