Rail disruption

Time of past OR future Camino
Sept/Oct 2023
A group of four of us will be cycling the Camino at the end of September and will be returning to the French border by train. I read a report a few weeks ago that due to rail infrastructure works taking place this summer on the rail line between Ourense and Montforte de Lemos was closed and rail passengers would be transferred by coach between these two stations. Does anybody know if this is still currently the case or has the line re-opened?

if it is still closed, will the coaches be able to take our bikes (disassembled and in bags)?

Many thanks

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
I agree with Tinc, your trip is still some time from now, Some times no matter what the rules with a bus company are, the driver is the one who rules. I had this experience in Najera when my bike broke down and was refused transport even with a large plastic bag and a disassembled bike. I had to wait for 3 busses until I found sympathetic driver.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Taxi to the first available access point? Probably Leon?

This summer when there were cyclists on our train trip to Sarria and were transferred to a bus at Ourense, the cyclists were allowed to bring bikes if they had paid for the service on board the train.

My partner did this exact route today and they had to transfer to buses. No bikes or dogs allowed. Not sure how much longer it will last.
