Hi! I want to see Lourdes when I am done with my section of the Camino this year ending in Burgos. I am thinking of renting the car in Burgos, touring Lourdes, Pau and surrounding areas for a few days then returning back to Burgos. Is it okay to rent a car in Spain and drive into France? Thanks for any advice you can give.

You should have no problems crossing into France and then returning the car back to Burgos.

It can be done, but international rental car drop fees are HUGE. Relative to Spain, France and Portugal are still foreign countries, despite the EU.

Caveat emptor!

You are returning the car to the starting point, should be no problem. If really concerned, email a rental company in Spain and ask. They will speak English.
