Camino Frances (Sept 2012)
Santiago to Finisterre & Muxia (Sept 2014)
Porto to Santigo (Sept 2015)
The Meseta (hopefully April 2016)
Not a single day has passed in the last two years when I haven't thought about the Camino and the lifelong friends made along the way from St Jean to Santiago in September 2012. We've stayed in touch and in less than a month's time five of us (two Australians, Irish John, Swedish Helen and I) are meeting up in Cathedral Square in Santiago to walk on to Finisterre together - almost exactly two years after we finished our pilgrimages.

I'm excited already! And I'd love to hear if others have done something similar?

I tend to be a hermit, not that I'm anti-social, I just like quiet time...when I want it.

My first Camino was the CF, I got injured outside Pamplona when I fell off the Alto de Pedron during a micro burst (no Joey, not a micro brew) with winds in excess of 40 mph/65 kph. I was forced to slow down...a lot, finishing in SdC on crutches.
The best part of being injured was that I was forced to go slowly. I met so many more fellow pilgrims than otherwise.
The more I walked/skipped, the more time I had to actually hold a meaningful conversation, drink an unhurried cerveza and really open myself to others.
I learned a lot that first Camino. I learned that others have lives that are at least as interesting to listen to..than my inane prattle with myself.
I learned that although we may not have met in person (though some of us have) on subsequent Caminos...we have stayed in touch here at the Forum.
Saludos to you Nancy and to future opportunities to meet old friends who share the Way.

Yes, it will happen in October. when I hopefuly arrive to Santiago. Five Camino fiends will fly there the same day from Budapest to accompany me on the last 100 km-s. From another thread, you know where we go, to meet Rosa, another Camino friend of us :)
