I have just got back from the Camino...

and yes, the groups are there
and yes, there are times when it almost feels crowded
and yes, there are also waves of high school students
and yes, many pilgrims are walking light
and yes, others are even jumping in taxis
and yes, the bikes still speed down the hills and expect you to move aside
and yes, accommodation at times can be considered a scarce resource
and yes, the queues at the Pilgrim's Office are hours long
and yes, the Cathedral can feel like a circus

and yet, I still felt the same magic

Jeffrey, I see you first walked in '93. So you are more aware of the changes that have happened on the Camino than most of us.
So a resounding "Good on ya!"--for your many successful caminos, and for having the ability to tune into the essence of the of it all, regardless of the froth on the surface.
