Got up this morning to overcast skies and high humidity. Out the door by 6:30 and immediately on dirt trails all day and walking through more grape 🍇 vineyards.
Today's weather was so tolerable I didn't even have to use my umbrella. Quite a change from the last 7 days.
Tomorrow I walk to Siena where I will take a scheduled and much needed day off.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
There's a large wooden ram's head somewhere close to the entrance to the walls - literally a battering ram. Have a pic of it somewhere.

Apparently in Dante's Divine Comedy, Monteriggioni was placed between the 8th and 9th circle of hell so expect it to get warmer soon.

Ahhh... Tuscany, sweet memories. What a wonderful place.

While Monteriggioni is stunning to look at, i found it a bit touristy. But at least i had the ancient question answered if you can put truffles on steak. Yes you can and yes you should.

"Bit touristy"??????
Waaaay too touristy! Literally busloads going in that direction this morning, but I guess it assists in the much needed economy revenue.
Still a beautiful little city.

Haha... got me. Been there the first week of October. It seems only logical that right now there would be lots more people. For some reason that did not occur to me at the time of writing.

Hope you still had a good time.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
We stayed at the priest's guest house for pilgrims within the old castle in late October. Beautiful weather and not many tourists after the sun sets. I remember lots of boars running alongside the trail eating chestnuts as my sister and I approached at dusk. They do not turn heat on until November, and it was a chilly evening, so we used their extra wool blankets, These were the thickest wool blankets I have ever seen - over a cm thick! Maybe the castle walls will also keep you cool? Enjoy this beautiful path!
