I plan on completing the trip on my third attempt, This time We hope to walk from Leon to Santiago,
We will be arrive in Spain from Ireland on July 6th or 7th, We had hoped to travel from Santiago to Leon by Train but I read here on the forum that it would be best to fly into Valladolid but Neither Ryan Air or Aerlingus fly there from ireland, so the question. Is it posible to get from Santiago via train on a daily basis and do you have to pre book. TKs IN advance.

St James' Way - Self-guided 4-7 day Walking Packages, Reading to Southampton, 110 kms
You can get a train from Santiago to Valladolid or Madrid at least once a day, connecting through Palencia or Leon.

From Santiago to Leon:

There is a daily bus that leaves Santiago at 0800hrs, arrives into Leon at 1400hrs. Verify for your exact travel day, as service is sometimes different for Sundays and holidays. The fare is around 28 euros. http://www.movelia.es/en

If you prefer the train, there are two daily, but you can't see service for July yet. The fare is 33-36 euros and the journey takes 4.5 to 5.25 hours. http://www.renfe.com/viajeros/index.html

I prefer the bus in Spain, but both ways are reliable.
