Sending luggage to St Jean's

We are intending to walk the Le Puy route next year, finishing in St Jean Pied de Port. Has anyone sent luggage to St Jean's, if so how and where would be able to find storage for the 5 weeks we will be walking.
Advice much appreciated. 8)

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

I walked the Le Puy route and had my sister (in Canada) send my guidebook for the Camino Frances to the SJPP post office a few weeks before I got to SJPP, Poste Restante (64220 St Jean Pied-de-Port). All I had to do is go to the post office and show my passport to get my small package. I don't remember paying, but I've read you have to pay 0.46 euros.

However, I believe they only hold mail for a month. But I can't remember where I read that--so I could be wrong. The Confraternity of Saint James has the postal code and information on how to address Poste Restante mail here.

Sorry this isn't all that helpful (unless you can have someone else send your luggage later?). I'm sure someone else will have more information for you.

Bon chemin!

To be on the safe side, you could post it to a place somewhere in the middle - collect it from there and then post it to St Jean.

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
