Very wise words.

Just in case anyone wants to do a pilgrimage on a ship in reality, have a look here: https://www.bordeauxcompostelle.com/l-association . The Bordeaux Pilgrim's Association is chartering the three-mast sailing vessel BELEM for a four-day-journey from Bordeaux to Santiago in June 2018.

"Back in the day..." the Irish and British used to arrive at the coast of northwest Spain on boats. They would start their pilgrimage at home, walk to the coast, and sail in a small(ish) boat to Ferrol, a Coruna, or San Sebastian. Their Camino started from there. This was the antecedent to the Ingles route.

Hope this helps.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
