We will arrive in Madrid on 3/15, and plan on taking the train to Pamplona the same day, then on to SJPP. We are both from Montana. Looking forward to meeting fellow pilgrims!

Welcome to the forum, John.
Do you plan to begin your Camino in Pamplona or will you go on to Roncesvalles? Whichever you choose, it will surely be a wonderful experience. Everyone here will no doubt be anxious to hear of your progress and adventures. And, if you have any questions, there are plenty of experienced peregrinos to answer them!
Buen Camino,

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Hi, sounds like you will be leaving SJPP on the morning of march 16th if you arrive in SJPP late 15th.. I am leaving on the 16th from SJPP and hoping to see other walkers the same morning so we can support each other the first steps over the pass to Roncensvalles :)

My name is Olafur, nick name Oli and email is oli@hvarf.com

Mud and GrannyB...welcome to the Forum!

I'm sure you've read our comments to Oli about making the Way up the mountain from SJPDP...weather is the first consideration, stamina the second. Consider the stop half way up. I have two reasons: 1. You will arrive early enough in the day to make adjustments to your equipment or feet...that you may not do should you press on. 2. The dinner at Orisson is to die for.
3. You will arrive in Roncesvalle with plenty of time to explore the Monastery, the town AND have an enjoyable dinner.

Just a thought,
Buen Camino,
Arn
