Slow walk - May 2016 companions for Sarria to Santiago

Time of past OR future Camino

Hi, I will be walking Sarria to Santiago in May. I am flexible on start date. I would like to walk say 12-15 km per day or thereabouts, So I think that will take 8-11 days.
Anyone want to do a slower paced walk? Yes, I know I will see many happy walkers along the way, but it would be good to have some "guaranteed' companions - not just "wave if you see me in Spain." (much as that is appreciated.)
Am in good health, good spirits and fit - it's just my personal preference to smell the roses....
I am happy to share a detailed itinerary including mapping out accomodation along the way - equally, if you have preferences for a itinerary that is great too.
If you want days or hours of "non-talking, non-socialising reflection " that is fine too - I just want the "guaranteed companions".
This is my first time walking the Camino - so learning a lot (but have also done a lot of travel around the world).
Cheers,

Hi, Shelley,
Welcome to the forum. I think that you will find that most people walk longer distances than you are suggesting. I'm not saying that's a bad pace, just that I don't think you will find many people here who are planning to walk at that pace. From Sarria in May, though, there will be lots of people in front of you, beside you, and behind you, so it will just be a matter of finding those who fall into your pace.

You may be lucky to find a kindred spirit here, but if you don't, don't despair, just rest assured that you will find those companions once you start to walk. Buen camino, Laurie

P.s. And you may also just find once you start to walk that you enjoy walking more than 3-4 hours a day, so it's a good idea not to lock anything in anyway!

Lots and lots and lots of people from Sarria to Santiago, though I think that is a bit before all the school trips.

Well I was in Sarria in the 2nd week of June last year and coming out there was big packs of young kids on what I would learn were school trips on the Camino. Ages about 10-12 and mid-teens.

Hrm... I actually don't know as me and another guy I was walking with pushed passed the groups to a very small town that only had 1 albergue on a hill and for the last few days into Santiago we were kind of ahead of the regular stops.

Thank you!! Fingers crossed either works out well.
