Gerry, at the risk of being thought I want to stuff socks down your drones ... with my father being born in Edinburgh, dinna fash y'sel'.

I suspect getting up the first hill out of Sarria will knock the stuffing out of your piping on day 1.

And the pull up the hill out of Portomarin will do much the same on day 2.

Nevertheless, kia kaha (take care, be strong, get going)

Wishing you all a Buen Camino! How about a Scotland versus Galicia battle of the pipers/Celts when you reach Santiago?!

Hi Alwyn
I walked the Camino on my own in May this year and thus i'm fully aware of the brutal hills.....we are not a pipe band.....one skilled pilgrim is bringing his pipes but wont be playing them as he walks...so don't worry about us....btw I've never heard of your Scottish "words" except "dinna" which should actually be "dinnae"...meaning don't

The Scot side of my family also spells it "dinna" . as does Webster:

and Collins:

and Urban:

and Lexico:

and others...

First of all, Buen Camino.

Ordering a wee breakfast at Carfin, which is only a country mile from Cleland, I was baffled when
I was asked if I wanted "squirrel ink". Anyone want to make a guess what the options really were.
