Starting at SJPP on April 1st

Hi all
I am planning on starting from SJPP on April 1st but am getting a bit nervous after reading all the posts about the snow and bad weather in that part.
I have never walked any part of the Camino before and now I am wondering if it will be safe to go at all?
What happens when the routes are closed? Are there signposted alternative routes?
I am afraid of ending up lost!
Also what would equipment/clothing would be recommended in those temperatures?

Many thanks
Buen Camino

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
Both routes are well marked, and you can stay on the road all the way, so you cannot get lost. By April 1 there may not be significant snow on the roads or path, or there may be a storm that closes the routes. Your date is pretty far off in weather terms, so don't change your plans until the last minute.

Buen camino!
