Prepare for your next Camino on California's Santa Catalina Island, Oct 27 to Nov 2
You sound ready to go! Burgos is a beautiful city and, I think, a great place to start. I ended the first leg of my pilgrimage in Burgos and I just bought my ticket to pick up where I left off next spring. I hope you have a chance to visit the cathedral. It is gorgeous, and when I was there pilgrims could tour free after a certain time in the afternoon. And the tapas bars in the nearby streets.... worth the journey. :p October will be here before you know it. Enjoy the rest of your preparations!

Congratulations on the weight loss. Fantastic. I was a pudgy peregrina on my first camino, and losing weight before the second made a HUGE difference.

Burgos is a fabulous city and many of the streets are vibrant and abuzz with activity well into the night. If your budget extends to a hotel and you want a good night's sleep, ask for a quiet room. You might sacrifice a view but it is worth it. I stayed in a hotel on Calle de la Puebla, 4th floor facing the street, and the noise level outside was truly unbelievable, well into the early hours.

Buen Camino.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Burgos is a great place to start, I went through there around Oct 3 last year. You will be able to get 6-7 days of walking that will help get you ready for a bit tougher and more hilly section later in your trip.

Awesome! I hadn't heard that before. Even happier I decided to stay there.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
