We are travelling from Dublin to Biarritz on Wednesday next and heading straight to St Jean Pied de Port for an early start on Thursday. Will we have much company? :?: 8)

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
I'm starting 5 days after you on Tuesday 17th....maybe catch you up after a couple of weeks?

Hope it goes well for you!

Best wishes

Nick

hi there,

I'm Angela from London (originally California USA). I will arrive on the 12th myself but won't get to St. Jean until the afternoon, so I will get my credentials and spend the night then start out the next morning. Hope to see you along the trail =)

buen camino!

I am also flying from Dublin to Biarritz on Wednesday 11th planning to start walking from St Jean on 12th. I am sure we will bump into each other in one or other of the two airports. Perhaps we might discuss the possibility of sharing a taxi from Biarritz rather than bus and train? Rob.

I arrive in Madrid april 11th. I have not booked all the alburgues along the way. Is that necessary? I plan on starting in Pamploma. Any advice?

The only place I have booked at this point is in Pamplona, Pension Sarasate. We are walking from Pamplona and wanted to spend the first night in a room with ensuite bath. Will begin walking on Thursday, April 12th .... unless there is just too much rain ...

Generally speaking, you can book private accommodation (pension or hotel) but not the albergues. One of the joys of the Camino is just walking without knowing for sure where you're going to sleep that night. Booking ahead takes away the spontaneity.

I do usually book the first night though just so I have a good night's sleep after all the travelling.

Send me the address for the pension in Pamplona just in case! I want to start the camino on Thursday as well. Same plan so far. Any info on buying the bus tix at Madrid airport would be helpful!
