Starting today (Easter) from Porto

My wife and I left for Santiago from the Cathedral in Porto after Easter Mass. Buen Camino.

Sorry for the delay in writing. We made it as far as Ponte de Lima and had to quit due to my wife getting a severe ear infection.

A couple of notes: the wind was rough going through the dunes on the way to Vila do Conde. It was topping 50kph and we were getting sand blasted. It was painful to be sure, but my skin has never been softer. Also, it was much cooler than expected… the temp fell off a couple of days after we arrived.

I’d consider timings insofar as getting food/drink on the way. We were on the Camino No later than 0830 and often times we’d find most cafes were closed along the way that we’d hop to have stopped at. Could have been the holidays, but our 30k day was miserable due to bonking.

Everyone has been lively and rest assured that if you need medical assistance the Portuguese and Spanish hospitals and clinics are effective to and excellent.
