Time of past OR future Camino

Hello all. I'm hoping I can get some helpful info.

I'm from Portland Oregon and I will start my Camino in just under a month.

I do not have health insurance. Should I seek to obtain travel insurance? This will eat into the money I have planned for the trip.

Also should I get the Travelex cash passport card to for the trip? Is there a better way ?

Thanks for any help. This is the first time I will have been over seas.

48Shaun84,

Welcome to the Forum! You must be very excited as the time draws near for your departure. Feel free to ask lots of questions. Past pilgrims are always eager to share tips and offer advice.

Health insurance or travel insurance which covers health problems is VERY important while traveling. Read these two earlier Forum threads which describe various solutions. >>

As for using credit cards and/or debit cards on the camino read these two Forum threads. >>

Happy planning and Buen camino,

Yes, you should take travel health insurance. Else you could face a requirement to pay cash for any emergency, which would genuinely wreck your budget.

The Travelex cash passport card is temporarily unavailable (they are in the process of changing banks). Take an ATM card and a credit card -- be sure to call your bank and card company before leaving the US (or you risk them thinking the cards have been stolen, and get shut off).
