The credential - passport to Santiago

Time of past OR future Camino
I am planning a pilgrimage on the Camino Frances in May of 2015
I am a little confused about the stamp on the passport: I am planning on going from SJPDP to Finistere and Muxia (if my knee will allow me). I thought when you stop for the night it's when you get your passport stamped. However, I have been reading that you need two stamps a day. Can someone clarifies that for me. Muchas gracias

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Only if you walk the last 100 kms to Santiago , 2 stamps per day is obligatory to obtain a Compostela certificate.
But nobody forbids you to ask for more stamps a day during the entire camino.
Only you will need an extra credential because of lack of room for more stamps. The credential is a nice memorial document after all with all those stamps

From airports to SJPP
Luggage from SJPP to Roncevalles
The theory: You need two stamps per day on your last 100km on foot to Santiago. Basically that means when you have passed Sarria.
The reality: If you come from further afield, like started in SJPDP f.e., one stamp per day is normally sufficient.
All the above only applies to the Compostela requirements btw.

On the way to Finisterra, to be able to sleep in the albergues, you need, as far as I know, only one stamp per day.

Hope that helps, Buen Camino! SY

Albergues automatically stamp your sello. But you usually have to ask in other accommodation. The stamps do not have to be where you sleep however and are widely available in bars etc. Some albergues have rules about how far you have travelled that day and the sello is proof. Yes about the two a day for the last 100k of walking before SDC if requiring a Compostela.

Hy , everyting is said here . The only thing I will say is to wish you a Buen Camino , Peter .
