The Next Little Step--Hello

Hi! My name is Heidi, and I plan to walk the Camino Frances for the first time in June 2015. I have been sort of idly pondering doing this for a few years, but had put it in the "some day" category of things I would like to do. I have had a very difficult two years of one crisis after another. Learning from those experiences, now that things seem to have settled for the most part, I realized that if I leave this for "some day" that day might never come. I had read a bit here and there, and felt strongly drawn toward the Camino. My first step was to talk to my husband, and turn "some day" into a concrete timeframe. My next step was to do a whole bunch of reading--thank you, everyone, on this wonderful forum! Then I slowly began to tell people in my life--the reactions are multitudinous and widely varied. Slowly, I am taking little steps to make this dream real. While I have been lurking the boards for several months, becoming a member of this forum seemed some how more real than I was ready for. Is that strange? Today, I felt that my next little step should be to create an account, and say "hello." So, hello. I appreciate so much the wealth of information and encouragement on this forum. I am very glad to be here.

I hope you will find everything you want from the forum, I am sure you know that all you have to do is ask in order to receive a wealth of contradictory responses and a few bad jokes.

Welcome and keep it up We did the same, and with similar feelings, before we started our first Camino in 2007. We walked once every year since. Unique is an understatement
