I wonder if anybody could help me regarding information about train-connections to/from Santiago? As I`m planning to reach Santiago in early July 2005, I`m thinking of travel by train to Lisabon-Portugal afterwards.
Thank you, Bjørn - Norway.

Trains in Spain are not the greatest. You can look at the RENFE (Spanish railroad) website and look at the service they have from Santiago to Lisboa.
I did a quick check and it seems like the train goes via Madrid.
The busses are much better way to travel. Try to look at the ALSA website and look at their schedules. I had a quick look and it looks like there is a direct bus from Santiago to Lisboa each Monday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday. It leaves Santiago at 11.30 and arrives in Lisboa at 19.30.

The busses usually are well equipped, usually with "In-flight" movies. I have taken the bus to Madrid a few times and I recommend it over the train.
You can go N-S via Porto but the only service between Portugal and Galicia is 2 trains a day between Porto and Vigo, change at Redondela to/from Santiago.
Despite having to change twice, it's not much slower than the bus and more comfortable. And if you're not pushed for time, you can spend a night en route; Porto or Coimbra for example are well worth visiting.
I'm flying to Madrid on Saturday evening, and then catching a train from Madrid Chamartín early on Sunday morning.
To those who have been to both, is it better to spend the night in the airport or...
Hi all! I am trying to finish up the last bit of planning for our upcoming Camino, in two and a half weeks, from Sarria to Santiago de Compostela. We are kinda doing things a little backwards, as...
Here's the dealeo. 😁 Instead of my usual departure city back to the US of A from Paris. I am now coming home from Barcelona. I've done my due diligence in searching how to get from Logrono to...
