Hi I am planning on starting my camino from Triacastela, any suggestions on how I might get from Madrid to my start point? Thanks in advance

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Welcome to the forum pemik!

As an indication I see that there is a train from Madrid-Chamartin to Sarria https://venta.renfe.com/vol/buscarTren.do (used Nov 15 as example) and a bus service from Sarria to Triacastela but without an exact date can't give you specific information. Given the distance you could also take a taxi from Sarria to Triacastela.

Swift response much appreciated. Hope to be starting my camino early next June. Thanks for info.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Useful info thanks, walking with buddy who lives in Vancouver so lots of logistics to navigate

There is also a direct bus from Madrid airport to Lugo which stops in Pedrafita do Cebreiro, have a look here: http://www.alsa.es/en
From Piedrafita you could either walk, via O Cebreiero or take a taxi / bus to Triacastela.
Buen Camino! SY
