Turning 40

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Hi bigrazz,
Welcome to the forum.
I think lot's of people walk the Camino to mark milestones in their lives. I did my first Camino when turning 60. Met young people who did it as their first trip away from home alone, others 70's & 80's.
Enjoy your time of planning as it is all a great part of the Camino process.
Buen Camino

I have had three birthdays (and two elections) on the Camino. I would have celebrated with a bottle of wine, but it is regularly supplied with every meal. Try a toast with hierbas!!

Congratulations in advance, and many happy returns.

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).

Mmmm! Hierbas!! One of the joys of the Camino.

well... you might wanna order "orujo de hierbas." Unless you want your puzzled waiter to bring you a handful of basil leaves and parsley... :(

We language-impaired people rely heavily on the kindly understanding of strangers and bartenders!

My bottles are variously labeled Licor de Hierbas, Agardente de Herbas, Licor Cafe, Orujo de Hierbas, and Cilantro Elaboracion Tradicional, and range from 25 to 33% alcohol. I have received an apparently home-made concoction in bars that is white orujo with herbs at a 50% alcohol content. The herb is dominated by the alcohol, and the brew is not a very good digestiv. The hospitalera in Ventosa brews a couple of dozen bottles of single and multiple-herb liqueurs from orujo, sugar, and herbs.

For six Euro I got a bottle from the bar in Ruitelan, and we toasted after the communal dinner in the albergue until bedtime.

Salud.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
Crickey, you wont want to strike a light while drinking that lot! You may not make 41!
Maybe safer with a bunch or two of herbs :D

At 40, you'll still be a spring chicken on the camino! I first walked the camino in my late 20s and met people of all ages, including those well into their 70s.
