Hi pilgrims, my wife and I have been walking for two weeks. First Orrison, if you can book it do so! Great experience. Different than other albergues. Ronscevalles is a bust. Overcrowded town with no resources for all pilgrims. You go to one of the bars and fight for service? We walked through Burguette (3kms)early next morning and it seemed to have lots of resources including groceries. We always carry food in our packs, fruits and a bag of cookies. You can usually stop at a cafe to eat but not always. It has saved us a few times. There seems to be issues with booking. We always start early (6am)and get to our destination (20-25 kms) by noon-1:00 and have had no issues. We still started booking ahead anyways. After you've walked 20-25kms it is comforting knowing you have a bed. So we have made it to Burgos and are taking our first day off. Our biggest downer so far was our night at the San Juan de Ortega monastery stay. Overcrowded to the point that you question your safety if there was a fire. The pilgrims meal was really bad. Worth your while to go to the next town.

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
