Two weeks till potential departure...and barely prepared!

How’d this happen?

While trying to decide whether to walk the Camino Portuguese or, instead, give myself a slow tour through the sweep of Portugal by train, I find myself just over two weeks away from flying to Porto – and yet to make a decision!

Should I opt for the Camino, is two weeks enough time to prepare, given that I already have most of the gear I would need? On one hand, I think, why sweat it? Just show up and put one foot in front of the other, and let life take its course. On the other hand, I think, shouldn’t I have started working my way through a to-do list a month ago??

All input is welcome.

With thanks.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
If you have your gear, then you're ready!

I agree with Trecile. You have your gear already. Pack, get on the plane, get off the plane and leave the rest up to your feet and your heart. You are in Portugal, relax and enjoy EVERYTHING!

Bom Caminho!

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.

LorneB,
You seem to be in a good place!
I have my flight booked and a bed for 2 nights in Lisbon starting 29 May. I have my kit washed from last year and a new pair of sandals. I may start reading my John Breirley soon (well, look at the pics).
Last year I walked east to west, this year I walk south to north.......what could possibly go wrong?
Buen Camino

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

The hardest part is getting to the start. After that it's just one foot in front of the other.

The chap I walked through Portugal with arranged for us to stay over at his dad's house
in Warrington the night before we flew out of Manchester. We drove down after work.
When we arrived he asked "what do you think I'll need ?". He chucked some walking
gear he had into a rucksack and away we went. I was impressed when his pack weighed
in at only 7 Kg at the check in desk. Minimal thought, maximum enjoyment

Bom Caminho
