via de la plata app

Can anyone tell me which is the best app for the Via de la Plata route. I've found two. Via de la Plata guide under Caminoguide.net and Way of St James, Via Plata DeNAide. Any comments or suggestions?

I can't say which app is the best. Though you may advantage yourself by looking at Wise Pilgrim and Perigrino Online apps.

Wise Pilgrim (or Wisely) is good. When you download, check that it launches properly, as your phone needs enough grunt to run it. The VDLP app, which I last used in October-November 2019, is fine on my now elderly Samsung Galaxy S8, but back in the day when I had an S5, the Wise Pilgrim apps wouldn't work.

I like being able to locate myself exactly on the trail, as this app does. Also the message function was useful in notifying following people of unseasonal albergue closures.

I have a cognitive impairment and my app using skills are rudimentary, but even I can use the Wisely apps successfully.

I like Windy Maps as it shows the camino route as well as the normal features. Just find the one for the VDLP. It works off line and no internet needed.
There is also Gronze which shows the route and places to stay etc. Ideally have the automatic translation from Spanish to English.
Maps Me is another. If you have preloaded the maps it works anywhere in the world. I also use it walking in the UK.
Gerald Kelly has a paper back book, digital book etc which covers the VDLP. " Walking Guide to the Via de la Plata and the Camino Sanabres"
Some free information and the whole guide can be obtained with a small donation. He walks the route frequently.
