Villasante de Mena albergue is closed permanently.

Isabel has announced that she is closing her albergue after 5 good years.

This will complicate things a bit, but I first walked the Olvidado before she was open, and it wasn’t that big of a problem.

Hoping that those about to head out can pivot and make new plans if this caught you unawares.

What a pity! Isabel is such a lovely, warm hospitalera. I really enjoyed staying with her during the first week of the Olvidado when albergues are few and far between.

I had heard "rumors" that she was retiring but now it has been confirmed. One fewer Camino Olvidado ángel around.
