Hi - I am commencing CF from SJPDP on 2 March - a little worried about the weather but excited at commencing as well. Anyone else walking at that time? Also - as I will be walking the Valcarlos route - has anyone stayed at the municipal albergue at Valcarlos? - would it be busy at that time of year?

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!
Hi Suz

I'm also starting my first Camino from SJPDP on 2 March. Hoping to make it to Roncavalles to following day, via Valcarlos. This might be a bit ambitious but I'll see how it goes. Not planning to book ahead too much as reading the various forums seems to indicate that there will always be some sort of accommodation available along the way. Maybe see you on the way. Buen Camino.

Hi Keith - I am also hoping to make Roncesvalles but I am keeping my mind open to Valcarlos in case of poor weather - i dont wont to aggravate any old injuries by going too fast too soon....See you on the way. Suz

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Hi Suz. How is your Camino going? I leave for my first Camino on March 16th from SJPdP. Did you make it to Roncesvalles the first day? Getting excited here to start. I hope the weather has been good for you, and not too cold! Buen Camino! Jim

So after an interesting start to my Camino, I made it to Roncevalles yesterday. We were advised by the Pilgrim office in SJPP not to use the trails as they were considered dangerous after the recent bad weather. This made for a fairly gruelling grind on the road after Valcarlos. Took me about 8 hours. Made it to Zubiri today. Bueno Camino to all on the Way.

hi Keith - where are you now? I am in Pamplona and leaving tomorrow. It has been hard work - I went to roncesvalles using the trails and wished I had not - others on the road were much faster.

I'm in Pamplona also. I'll be leaving for Puente la Reina in the morning. I have to visit the post office first at 8:30. So maybe see you on the road.
