- Camino Frances: SJPdP -> Fisterra, (sep 26- oct 18, 2017)
I have time to walk and was thinking about doing the camino from Porto to Santiago starting soon. I have walked the CF, enjoyed it but also found it very pilgrim-touristy, with not that much else to offer in terms of local atmosphere. I’ve read that CP is more an local experience.
Q
For the season, is this an enjoyable walk or is there another you would suggest (I dont mind not getting all the way to Santiago). I would love mountains, but there are probably better season for this. But walking by the sea is also always an awesome experience.
Will I meet other pilgrims or will i walk alone. Which routes does other pilgrims do this time of the year.
I have heard alot about the roads/cobblestone, would I be better suited walking in runningsneakers than trailshoes. Should I ever walk the CF again I would probably do it in runningshoes, as I did find most of the camino runs on nice and easy roads.
Cheers.
