Hey, all! I'm embarking on my 3rd Camino on the Camino Portuguese starting on July 2nd from Lisbon, and I'm beginning to get excited! My plane leaves on June 30th from TX.

Anyone else doing the CP about that time?

Ruth

A guide to speaking Spanish on the Camino - enrich your pilgrim experience.
I had been planning on doing the CP, but I finally decided to keep travel and planning very simple so I've opted to walk the Primitivo again. God willing, I'll be in SdC on July 20th.

Hopefully, I'll walk the CP next year.

Safe travels and Buen Camino.

Might see you there. My plans are quite loose though :)

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Planning CP to Porto (starting in Santarem) in late winter or early Spring for three weeks at a leisurely pace to tour the Templar sites. Can’t wait and anxious to hear about accommodations as the pilgrimages ramp up.
Bom Caminho to all!

I arrive in Lisbon on 8/26. I am not sure what I will do, maybe walk from Cascais to Nazare and then bus to Porto for the walk into Santiago and Finisterre. But I am just so glad to be traveling that the destination is secondary..

Bring sunscreen and one of those reflective uv umbrellas. No shade from Lisbon and it will probably be really hot 🥵

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.

I plan on the sunscreen! I like to tell my students that I have 2 colors: glow in the dark and lobster red! I'm also wearing UPF 50 clothing over my arms, and I'm no stranger to heat--I live in the desert in the hottest city (based on average daily temperature) in New Mexico! We haven't hit 100°F yet this year, but we have had several that hit over 95°F, and I have been training with my full pack since mid-april. I'm pretty sure I will be ok. 🤞🤞🤞

With the albergue uncertainty download some apps like Wise Pilgrim and Buen Camino and check Gronze.com so you have as many places to sleep as possible. They are all free. Lisbon to Porto has less pilgrim infrastructure.

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc

I was planning to use booking.com a lot, but those sound like good additions to the accommodations I can look at. Thanks for the info!
