I am in Spain (Cordoba now, but will be going to Barcelona before I start my Camino in Burgos) and am looking for Permetrina. I went to Decathlon today and they did not have it. What type of store should I be looking this product? Gracias

Linda

Go to a farmacia. Ask to speak with the pharmacist. If you don't speak Spanish, might be best to write Permetrina on a paper

Good luck.

Thanks, and fortunately, I do speak Spanish. I didn't know if it would be sold in some sort of hardware type store...

If they sell it, it would be in a ferreteria of some sort (the only time I was there when someone asked where to find it we were sent to a ferreteria, or a farm equiment place, of which there are many.

A farmacia will offer you a Deet-based repellant that can be applied to the skin. The only time I saw permethrin was in the windows of a store selling pest control, hardware and agricultural products. Be sure to read the label for instructions on usage.

Ferreteria or grocery store.
Correct me Laurie if I am wrong.
But not the Farmacy.

Grocery store? Yuk! I get mine at home at a pest control place, with them telling me how dangerous it is and I should not purchase it. But still sell it to me, as there is no legislation against it...

You buy it dirt-cheap at "Agro-Veterniaria" (animal feed) stores, or even more cheaply, by the cc., from veterinarians. It comes in a spray bottle or as a liquid that's mixed with water and sprayed on. You may have to buy a whole lot more than you need to get what you want!
