Alsa seem to have a lot of sales not not so much RENFE. Fares from €15 celebrating 30 year anniversary. Just got this email…

Until next April 24 (or while stocks last), buy your ticket to travel on Ave, Alvia, Euromed and Intercity trains for only €15. The offer is valid from April 22 to 24 and for travel from July 1 to September 30, 2022.

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc

Just checked, 114,000 people in a queue, long wait online☹️

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
I think someone accidentally pressed the wrong button and things on the renfe site broke. I see a long wait too.

But I did just make a purchase on the app.

BTW don't forget to browse the two discount rail lines also, they are good for long routes that start and end in major cities :

It is wise to remember that RENFRE does not refund or replace any tickets for different ones if bought online. I learned this the hard way. Paid €50 online, got injured before train departure, went to hospital, back to station and had to pay another €85 to get to SJPdP from Paris, in 2018.

This is not the case for all tickets. Online (and renfe app) tickets come in three flavors, below is Renfe’s official line:

On Ave and Alvia, Euromed and Intercity trains, the change conditions will depend on the option (Básico, Elige or Prémium) you have purchased.

  • the Basic ticket does not allow changes and cancellations. You can improve your trip by using the special conditions for changes and cancellations of the Elige and Premium options, at an extra cost.
  • with the Elige y Elige Confort tickets, a charge of 20% of the ticket will be applied for changes, while for cancellations the charge will be 30%. You can improve your trip by using the special conditions for changes and cancellations of the Premium option, at an extra cost.
  • The Premium ticket allows you to make changes for free, while you will be only charged 5% of the ticket price if you have to cancel.
