Time of past OR future Camino
April 29th through to 19th May 2024
This is my first Camino but I am a regular hiker in the hills and coast of North East England.

Flight booked to Santander for 29th April and I have planned to cover bits of 3 Caminos to experience a taste of each route and see what I enjoy.
a) Santander to Ribadesella on the Norte = 30th April to May 5th
b) Leon to O Cebriorio on the Frances = 5th May to 12th May
c) Lugo to Santiago - meeting a mate in Lugo to do the last stretch

Need to sort out my travel to Leon from Ribadesella to Leon via Oviedo on 5th May = Google tells me I can catch a train at 08:22 to Oviedo but the only travel I can actually confirm is the 1230 bus to Oviedo. Do anyone know if there is a train or bus earlier than 1230.

Bus from Ribadesella to Gijon 11:02, change at Gijon for Oviedo. Looks like 15 minutes connection time.

Plenty of trains Oviedo to Leon (and buses) https://venta.renfe.com/vol/buscarTrenEnlaces.do?c=_tPqw

Thank you, but I don't save much time as its a much longer route via Gijon, the bus from Ribadesella only takes 75 mins to get to Oviedo at 1230 and as you suggest plenty of trains to Leon.

I was hoping I could leave Ribadesella much earlier to have more time in Leon that afternoon hence.

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
Transport on Sundays is always very constrained. Might be worth looking at leaving Ribadesella on the Saturday. I'd probably swap Saturday night in Ribadesella for the same in Leon, Leon has more interesting bars, but they are both great places

Although your Camino Tasting Tour sounds like a lot of fun you may find that you'll be spending a fair bit of time playing with local transport

I have followed your suggestion and travelling to on Saturday 4th May from Llanes to Leon via Oviedo and will take a day off in Leon now. Many thanks for your advice

Ha, maybe too late with this info. There’s a FEVE train to Oviedo at 7:49. Almost impossible to find because you can’t buy tickets online. https://www.renfe.com/es/en/suburban/cercanias-am/horarios
I get the feeling RENFE would like to shut the FEVE lines

No worries, i like the change to a day in Leon to see the sights, attend.mass and then see how lively the local nightlife is .......i can repent my sins on the walk to O Cebriorio.
