Buses from Santiago - please help

Laurat

Hi Fellow Pilgrims, please help me :) My flight arrives in Santiago on Sunday 15 June at 2pm. Is there any bus/public transport from the airport or Santiago city centre that I can take on the SAME DAY that will drop me off anywhere between Cebreiro and Ponferrada at a decent hour where I can still find accommodation. I only have +- 10 days to walk +- 20km a day as flight home from Santiago is on 27 June. I would be most grateful for any suggestions ....... Laura

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

Laura,

Arriving at 2 pm you will not disembark and get out of the airport before 3pm, use www.alsa.es/en/ to look at bus schedules and arrival times, they are cheap and regular, but I doubt you will get there by bus on time.
Alternatively, see if a taxi might be the best option, usually not that expensive, and for the sake of $200 it might make the trip do-able, share with someone if you can.
Buen Camino, its a trip that will stay with you forever :)

ALSA operates buses from Santiago to Piedrafita do Cebriero, Villafranca del Bierzo, and Ponferrada.

Initial looks suggest there is one train and one bus that will get you to Ponferrada on your schedule. (Renfe schedule is due for updating for dates after 14 June) Most of the departures are early in the day suggesting that a stay over in Santiago would not be unreasonable if Piedrafita or Villafranca are your start choice.
