Time of past OR future Camino
I'm walking the Camino de Santiago in 2016 - 17, I haven't decided yet when this is to happen.
My name is Justin, I live in Melbourne. I'm planning to walk the Camino in 2016 - 17, I haven't decided yet when I'm doing this. But I was wondering if any new members have the same interests as me to do the walk or in the planning of fitness to build up for it or just to catch up and talk.

Justin, we are too many miles apart to meet up beforehand but I wish you a buen camino and might see you there if you find yourself on the CF in May 2016.

Hi Justin, I'm in the planning stage too. Looking at a start in early April 2016 from StJPP. Would have made it earlier to dodge crowds and heat as much as poss. But I really want to do the Napoleon route and it looked better odds to be open in April than earlier. From what people are saying this year, seems like it will be pretty busy anyway and pretty hot further down the track. But hopefully not so much of either as in summer up there! Fitness wise, I'm pretty confident of building up to it. Walking is the main thing. I live in a hilly area, but much smaller climbs and descents than the Camino. Still I reckon if I can comfortably do 30K's 2 days in a row here, that should do it. Plus a bit of gym work for core strength and balance. I'm not 100% decided, but have nailed FF flights over and really enjoying the planning - reading loads here and elsewhere, getting fit again, learning a bit of Spanish.
